In July, it was decided that after two years of absence, two-time world champion Fernando Alonso would return to Formula One, and from 2021 he would be a Renault driver again – that is, Alpine – after the rescheduling announced since then.
The 39-year-old Spaniard also got a job on Monday, promotional materials were filmed at the center in Enstone, but Alonso also started working as a simulator.
“It was incredibly exciting to get back to the factory. I joined Renault in 2002, at the age of 21, I know every single corner, corridor, door of this place! It was a special day. We started! ” The contestant wrote on Twitter.
An incredible thrill to go back to the factory. I came to Renault in 2002, when I was 21 years old, I know every corner of this place, every corridor, every door …

Alonso started as a test driver for Renault in 2002, became a permanent driver in 2003, and won championships in 2005 and 2006 with the team. After a poorly successful McLaren adventure in 2007, he pulled down two more seasons with the Enstone squad in 2008-2009, albeit with far less success.
The Spaniard will not be racing again until 2021, but Renault is already working in the background to test this year’s car if it manages to convince the International Automobile Federation (FIA), perhaps to take part in the Abu Dhabi youth test in December.
