Ajax has also won the fifth game of the season with the resumption of the Women’s Eredivisie. The team of coach Danny Schenkel took the three points on Friday at PEC Zwolle: 1-4.

Chasity Grant opened the score for Ajax eight minutes before half time with a slider in the left corner. Shortly after, PEC was close to the equalizer, but Jassina Blom’s shot landed on the crossbar.

In the second half, Nikita Tromp further increased the score with two hits. Because of the victory, Ajax remains without losing points this season. The Amsterdam women lead with fifteen points and have a lead of five points on number two ADO Den Haag, which did not get further than 2-2 against VV Alkmaar on Friday.

Number three PSV has six points less than Ajax, but will still take action on Sunday. The Eindhoven people will then visit Excelsior.

Partly thanks to a goal by Orange international Renate Jansen, FC Twente was too strong for sc Heerenveen 3-0 and occupies fourth place at eight points from Ajax.

The Women’s Eredivisie was resumed on Friday, after the competition was suspended for two weeks due to the new corona measures. All clubs have now succeeded in applying the new protocol.
