Ajax has not accepted the KNVB settlement proposal for Edson Álvarez. The football association wants to suspend the midfielder for three games, one of which is conditional, following his red card on Saturday in the home game with Vitesse (2-1).
VVV-Venlo accepts the settlement proposal
Álvarez was sent off the field just before half time, because he stood on the leg of Loïs Openda at the level of the sidelines. Referee Pol van Boekel initially missed this, but he was made aware of this by the video referee (VAR).
The KNVB then demanded an exclusion from two matches, but Ajax does not agree with that. The Amsterdammers will have the case presented to the disciplinary committee at the federal office in Zeist on Thursday. He can decide that the print may be dropped.
After the game with Vitesse, Ajax coach Erik ten Hag reacted to Álvarez’s red card. “I didn’t understand when it happened. It’s a game where Álvarez is going for the ball. This is definitely not a red card, it has nothing to do with foul play.”
Sparta Rotterdam has not agreed to the settlement proposal of one game suspension for Mica Pinto because of the red card he received on Saturday in the game with PEC Zwolle (4-0). The defender made hands on the goal line just before half-time with a corner kick.
VVV-Venlo did accept the settlement proposal of three matches suspension, one of which was conditional for Tobias Pachonik and Simon Janssen. The defender and midfielder both got red on Saturday in the game against sc Heerenveen (1-0).
