Ajax and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement about the transfer of Sergiño Dest, so report The Telegraph in Voetbal International Sunday. The defender will fly to Spain on Monday to finalize the deal.

Ajax and FC Barcelona have agreed, according to the Dutch media, on a transfer fee of 20 million euros excluding bonuses. Dest has not yet reached an agreement with the club of trainer Ronald Koeman.

FC Barcelona seems to have definitely outdone Bayern Munich in the battle for the nineteen-year-old Ajax player. The Germans are also interested in Dest and reportedly made a bid of around 15 million euros last week, but that wiped Ajax off the table.

Dest has a contract with Ajax until mid-2022 and came into action on Saturday in the league match against Vitesse (2-1), but there is a good chance that he played his last minutes there for the team from Amsterdam. The American international has 38 duels for Ajax (two goals) to his name.

At FC Barcelona, where former Ajax player Frenkie de Jong is also under contract, Dest will be the successor of Nelson Semedo. The Portuguese right back left for Wolverhampton Wanderers for about 30 million euros.

Dest is expected to be the twelfth player to leave Ajax this summer. Hakim Ziyech, Donny van de Beek, Joël Veltman, Benjamin van Leer, Kik Pierie, Carel Eiting, Danilo, Razvan Marin, Lisandro Magallán, Bruno Varela and Ryan Babel have previously left Amsterdam.
