ADO Den Haag continues to stir in the transfer market. The Eredivisionist has strengthened itself on Friday with Israeli international Ilay Elmkies, who comes over from Hoffenheim on a rental basis.
“It feels very good for me to work at ADO Den Haag”, says 20-year-old Elmkies. “The conversations with the head coach showed me that there is a lot of potential in the club. I am very motivated to contribute to the realization of the goals.”
Midfielder Elmkies fell once in injury time at Hoffenheim last season and made his debut with the Bundesliga club. He played four times for Israel and at the beginning of this month he was even accurate in the Nations League game with Slovakia (1-1).
“Ilay is a versatile midfielder, who was brought into the A-selection of Hoffenheim by Alfred Schreuder”, says Martin Jol, head of the technical heart. “While he had been on our radar for a while, he stood out even more last week thanks to his first goal for Israel. We are pleased that Ilay chose our club with his profile.”
Elmkies is already the nineteenth player for ADO to be added to the selection this transfer period. In contrast, the departure of nineteen players.
