It is about FC Emmen, a team that plays in the First Division of their country. The sponsor had been rejected, but he appealed and reached an agreement: he will premiere it this weekend.
The Netherlands is one of the most liberal places in the world when it comes to individual rights. A land without taboos, which has served as an example in Europe of progress on many issues. However, the Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) proved to be somewhat conservative in recent days. Now, however, the case had a favorable resolution and they had to “recoil” in your initial intention.
FC Emmen got an unusual sponsor for the football environment and the country’s highest football entity orange dHe estimated the possibility immediately. This new sponsorship corresponded to EasyToys, a company dedicated to the sale and distribution of erotic toys. The Federation rejected this idea and prohibited him from displaying that brand on his jersey.
“It is against good taste and decency”, the organization wielded. And he added: “We do not consider it appropriate for followers to unintentionally face an ad that could, directly or indirectly, partner with the sex industry ”.
In that way, the team faced VVV-Venlo and PSV, for the first and second dates of the local championship respectively, without any main sponsor on his shirt.
However, after a long negotiation, the club mentioned that “they reached a provisional solution” and that they will be able to show off the brand on the team’s clothing. Part of the covenant indicates that the club may not use the logo of this brand on children’s brand shirts, something that is quite logical.
Ronald Lubbers, president of the institution, was “very happy” to be able to fulfill the agreement and assured that the solution was “pragmatic.” In this way, Emmen will debut their new sponsor against Willem II in Trilburg, this Sunday, as local.
Emmen was going to sign a three-year sponsorship, but now has agreed only one year while KNVB reviews its regulations.
