The priest Flavio Ibarra Pedroza has been sentenced in Aguascalientes (Mexico) to 32 years and nine months in prison for raping, indecent and corrupting a child, of which he was his spirit guide. The sexual abuse began in January 2013 and lasted until July 2017.

After analyzing the evidence, the Public Ministry and the Judge of Control and Oral Criminal Trial have sentenced the religious to four years and six months in prison for the crime of indecent assaults, 20 years and three months for that of rape and eight years for corruption of minors. In addition, Ibarra Pedraza must bear the costs of the psychological treatment required by the victim.
The Diocese of Aguascalientes has reiterated its commitment to zero tolerance in cases of sexual abuse, according to the newspaper Millennium.
