The “bison” painting in the sand has become an idol of prehistoric women.
Following the volume, the “bison” modeled on ceramics and polychrome refers to the earth-colored lines that outline the bison paintings in the Altamira cave.
before Homo sapiens He knows how to write, he already knows how to draw. This is one of the reasons why the artist Marina Roca Díe created the “bison” by painting (a mixed figure) on the sand, as a prehistoric idol of the light of the 21st century.
Marina Rocca Di Is a contemporary plastic artist. His work is equally fascinating and uncomfortable. Roca Díe processed the black of Goya and the brightness of Picasso. When he chose “Muse”, he stayed with Egon Schiele, Francis Bacon, Georg Baselitz and Lucian Freud. All twisted and deconstructed human bodies. Marina Roca Díe said of sex: “Art must affirm the primitive nature of mankind.”
Moreover, these wickers seem to be forged in the intestines, not gleeful wicker, he modeled by drawing a “bison” on the sand as an idol of prehistoric women.
The character appeared in a conference on prehistoric women organized by the Women’s Institute, which is the origin of mankind.

We interviewed Marina Roca Díe
Why not let two women light a campfire with two sticks? Why not use the woman who hunts with a spear, why not use the figure of the stone Venus…? What made you choose the “bison” represented by female prehistoric women?
Prehistoric women have spread all over the world and have gone through 40,000 years. You have to narrow it down because it is huge. What woman, what prehistory, where…?I decided to choose Altamira, Because it is a well-known national and international benchmark. It is super iconic. In addition, Altamira’s works incorporate sculptures and paintings that I like.
One of the unique features of the Altamira cave image is that the drawings are adapted to the volume. They get a midpoint between the flattened reality in two dimensions (what the drawings do) and the adaptation to the volume (what the sculpture does).
That’s why I decided to use the bison icon and then make a colorful “bison” (don’t let linguists blame me. I know this is a non-existent word) to follow the prehistoric route.
Why mix characters, half women and half animals?
For me, the important thing is that it is a hybrid between women and animals, because more poetry is spoken on the edge of language.
I gave him a bison head, but it is important that he has female breasts and human hands.
The faces of female bison and male bison look very similar, so there is no difference. A bison is an image used in art history. If I put a bison’s face, everyone will say it is a male. So I put women’s breasts on her. Then, I use tools to place absolute human hands on opposite thumbs. painting.
I want it to perform an action. When you are a figurative painter, the first thing you have to ask yourself is who that character is and what it does. Among female representatives, women are powerless throughout the history of art. She is a muse, she is static, if possible, naked, all of us can see, and she does not perform any specific actions. This is the case throughout art history. That’s why I want her to do something, for me, something is being drawn.
Only human painting
Painting is a major feature of human beings. Actually there are numbers. Sculpture can be considered as three dimensions, it appears in reality. Trees are sculptures, and stones are sculptures. But painting flattens these three dimensions into two, which is an impeccable human being. I want to show the characteristics of human beings, that is, the flattening of reality, that is, painting.
Why in the sand instead of in the cave?
You are painting with sand because it may be the first in the drawing. When a person walks on the beach and realizes that his footprints are marked, some kind of imprint will appear. I imagine that the earliest pictures in the world are lines and marks on the sand. These marks later began to symbolize something and convey something. This is why I want a person to paint on the beach.
I drew on the sand in the park, and I pretended to ask girls and boys what they saw in the work I did. The reason why they are fascinated is that they have some simple marks, they can understand the meaning, and know their meaning.
Can Altamira’s paintings be played?
I have no doubt that Altamira caves are a special place for those communities, but those who make these drawings have to practice before. They are not drawings amateurIt is a two-dimensional picture that requires prior training to observe nature and capture it.
They must have used sticks, charcoal and charcoal to paint on the sand outside the cave. I think they went to the cave from there and made these special paintings, not only for training, but also for more meaning.
Sometimes, when you say less, you count more. I want to reflect on it a little bit. This is an imaginary game about the dialogue between prehistoric women. If I were a woman from Altamira, what would I do? Some people will say: hunters, some people will say guards, I can paint, maybe I care.
