A fire broke out in an intensive care unit destined for Covid-19 patients in a Romanian town hospital of Piatra Neamt has killed 10 people this Saturday.
According reports the British channel Sky NewsAll the people except one of the deceased were patients with Covid-19 and one of the injured was a doctor on duty who tried to save the patients from the flames.
The doctor is admitted in critical condition with second and third degree burns covering 80% of his body, according to Sky quotes to the director of the Lucian Micu Hospital.
The Romanian Minister of Health, Nelu Tartaru, attributed the fire to a short circuit and an investigation was announced to determine all the causes and responsibilities of the incident.
The fire burned two wards in which 16 patients were in intensive care before the firefighters managed to put out the flames.
