A healthy dog that received a lethal injection and buried alive by his owners escapes from his grave and manages to survive. The animal, a seven-year-old German shepherd named Kiryusha, emerged from its grave in the woods towards the nearest road after its owners left it for dead.
A woman, Olga Lystseva, 39, was driving a car near that area and saw the dog walkingslowly in the rain on a road in northern Russia, according to local media and Animal Shelter Dobry Górod. Olga, an animal lover, decided turn around to rescue him.
When meeting him, He put it in the back of his car. The German Shepherd was wet and tired after the terrible experiences he had. Olga bought food from Kiryusha and afterwards he slept all the way to Ukhta, where she delivered him to a dog rescue service called Kind City.
Volunteers started sharing photos of the poor dog and soon discovered that it came from the city of Yemva. In addition, they managed to locate the owners, who assured that they had decided to euthanize the dog because he was sick.
They even admitted that they gave him an injection with the intention of killing him. However, after some tests, a vet discovered that the animal he had no serious medical problems and was healthy.
The couple claimed that they buried him alive by “mistake” and he apologized. The dog now has a family and is recovered. “He walks on a leash, he doesn’t run anywhere, he rarely conflicts with other dogs, and he doesn’t bark. He’s kind to people,” adds the animal shelter.
