A three-meter crocodile has killed a 50 year old bather in the Laguna del Carpintero, in Tampico, Mexico. According to local media such as Debate, the events occurred this Saturday afternoon, when the man began to swim in a restricted area, inhabited by these reptiles.
It was then that one of these crocodiles attacked the bather and killed him in a matter of seconds, according to witnesses. The reptile ripped off one of its limbs and later pulled the victim to the bottom of the pond.
Local emergency personnel such as the Red Cross, Civil Protection and Firefighters went to the scene of the event and they entered the lagoon with boats to try to rescue the victim, who had injuries in the neck, one arm and thorax. Once on land, the troops could only certify his death.
The area of the lagoon where the man had gone is bathing or any other aquatic practice prohibited by the presence of crocodiles.
