The Ministry of Health has notified 55,019 new cases of covid, 4,334 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic to 1,240,697, and that of deaths to 36,257, 777 in the last 7 days and 379 more deaths from the figures reported last Friday. It would be the highest number of infections during a weekend in Spain.
According to the data provided by the communities, and taking into account that Catalonia has not been able to update its figures due to technical problems, the Basque Country is ranked first in terms of new infections in the last 24 hours, with 790; followed by Aragon (692), Galicia (529), Navarra (525), Extremadura (371), Andalusia (342) and Madrid (317).
Regarding the incidence accumulated in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants, the national average rises from 485.2 points on Friday to 521.07, while hospital occupancy remains at 15.51% (compared to 14 , 7% on Friday) and the pressure on the ucis rises from 26.5% to 27.97%.
Most of the dead, in Andalusia
Of the 777 deaths in the last 7 days, 142 have died in Andalusia, 133 in Castilla y León, 85 in Aragon and 73 in Madrid. Navarra continues to register the highest cumulative incidence, with 1,193.49 (compared to the 1,187 reported on Friday), followed by Aragon, which goes from 1,029.87 to 1,127.04, and Melilla, with 1,356.27.
Below a thousand and above the national average of 521.07, are Castilla y León, with 828.86; La Rioja, with 772.73; Catalonia, with 726.70; Basque Country, with 640.96; Murcia, with 565.03; Extremadura, with 556.05; Andalusia, with 545.33; and Ceuta, with 831.59. On the contrary, the Canary Islands is the only one that remains below 100 cases, with 76.44.
According to the data provided today by Health, there are 19,170 hospitalized covid patients, of which 2,650 are in ucis. In the last 24 hours there have been 2,002 admissions and 1,203 registrations.
La Rioja registers the highest healthcare pressure in the ucis, with an occupancy of 53.33% (compared to 45% on Friday); Aragon rises one point to 48.18%; Catalonia two up to 40.12%; Madrid drops from 38.40% to 38.29%; and Navarra also fell three points from 40.5% to 37.5%, the same figure as Castilla y León.
Asturias is also above the national average, with 30.63%, Castilla-La Mancha, with 28.02% and the Basque Country, with 27.98%. Furthermore, in Melilla it is 71.43% and in Ceuta it is 47%.
In the week between October 23 and 29, 896,609 diagnostic tests were performed, with a positivity of 13.52%, almost half a tenth less than on Friday.
In Europe, Russia continues to be the country that accumulates the most infections, with 1,636,781, followed by France, with 1,413,915, Spain and, in fourth place, the United Kingdom, with 1,034,914.
Worldwide, covid has killed 1,196,362 people, and the United States is at the forefront of infections, with 9,105,230, followed by India, with 8,184,082, and Brazil, with 5,516,658 .
