The French Ministry of Health has reported this Sunday of 52,010 new confirmed positives of coronavirus and 116 deaths detected in the last 24 hours, a number of infections that supposes a very sharp rebound in the curve of this second wave unprecedented in the entire pandemic.
France accumulates 1,138,507 confirmed cases and 34,761 coronavirus-related deaths. There are 12,176 new hospitalizations in the last seven days and there are 1,816 patients in intensive care.
In addition, 2,321 sources of contagion have been recorded and 92 of the 101 departments of the country are in a situation of “high vulnerability”, according to the latest official bulletin.
This Saturday the National Assembly approved the bill to extend the state of health emergency until February 16, 2021. This exceptional regime authorizes the Government to impose restrictions.
The Government thus extends the curfew to 54 departments and Polynesia, with what is now 46 of the 67 million French those who are affected by the measure.
