Over the weekend, before the DPCM closed the cinemas, the Italian boxoffice attracted exactly 255,583 people to the cinema, decreeing the victory in first place in Sul più bello.
On the day the new DPCM to counter the emergency from Coronavirus, closing the rooms again and bringing a sector back to its knees and the supply chain, we note, data in hand of the Cinetel report this morning, which 255,583 spectators had believed in the cinema experience at Italian boxoffice of the weekend. Releases in theory not of enormous appeal, for a market already plagued by the inaction of the films of the majors, but which have been judged worthy by those who love cinema and have not been afraid of reaching theaters.
The first position is for the debut of the brilliant teen comedy On the most beautiful, the story of a girl who, seriously ill, decides to focus on the most beautiful boy: the bond will take an unexpected turn and much more serious than expected. It started with € 328,000 in five days, before being withdrawn from distribution.
Sled from first to second place Greenland with Gerard Butler: the dramatic family distaster movie grossed another 165,000 euros and thus reached the Italian total of 1,485,000. We remember that Greenland had left us at the cinema, when in the States it was decided not to risk, hijacking it in streaming.
Third position for the directorial debut of Pietro Castellitto with the grotesque and ruthless The predators, clash between two families of different backgrounds and political beliefs: 159,000 euros have been raised by the film.
In fourth place we find, down from the third, The Extraordinary Life of David Copperfield, free reinterpretation of the novel by Charles Dickens, with the ironic interpretation of Dev Patel: over the weekend he collects 128,000 euros.
Chiude la top five Lockdown all’italiana by Enrico Vanzina: perhaps also due to the all too topical theme, it falls from second to fifth position with 106,000 euros, for an overall result of 372,000.
