An Armenian footballer, who played last season for Alashkert-2 of the second division of his country, died in fighting in the separatist enclave of Nagorno Karabakh, as reported this Monday by his club.

The player, Liparit Dashtoyán, died on the front, stage since the end of September bloody fighting between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces, according to Alashkert-2 in a statement.

“Dashtoyán has entered the list of heroes who have given their lives for the country. Rest in peace, Soldier, “says the note.

The 22-year-old footballer wore the Alashkter-2 jersey between 2014 and 2019.

As reported by the Nagorno Karabakh authorities today, 223 Armenian soldiers have died in fighting since last September 27.
